
Green Day
Green Day is an American punk rock band created in 1986 by vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt. the band has mostly been a trio with drummer Tré Cool, who replaced former drummer John Kiffmeyer in 1990 brfore recording of the band's second studio album, Kerplunk in 1992. Guitarist Jason White became a full-time member after having performed with the band as a session and touring member since 1999.
The band's early releases were with the record label Lookout! Records. Its major label debut Dookie (released by Reprise Records) became a breakout success and eventually sold over 10 million copies in the U.S, in 1994
Green Day has released 11 studio albums, three live albums, four compilation albums, onesoundtrack album, four video albums, 12 extended plays, four box sets, 40 singles, ten promotional singles, and 39 music videos. The band has sold over 65 million albums worldwide, including more than 23 million in the United States alone.. Dookie, the band's first album on the label and third studio album overall, was released in February 1994. It was a breakout success, selling over 10 million copies in the United States and 20 million copies worldwide. Dookie spawned five singles, including the international hits "Longview", Basket Case" and "When I Come Around". The album placed Green Day at the forefront of the 1990s punk rock revival
